    MJF 3D Printing Technology

    It is a 3D printing technology registered by the HP brand. As a manufacturing method, Multi Jet Fusion technology is one of the Powder Bed Fusion methods. In MJF technology, the parts are manufactured by spraying fine polymer powder particles with a binder and then sintering the polyamide material using an infrared heat source.

    It is an ideal additive manufacturing technology for low-volume manufacturing of end-use parts with complex geometries, prototypes required for functional tests, and industrial prototypes with mechanical properties compared to injection molded parts.

    MJF 3D Printing Materials

    Finishing Options

    Different finishing options can be preferred according to the place and situation where the machined piece will be used. Some processes can be applied to make the model smoother, brighter, matte or corrosion-resistant. Some of these processes are listed below.

    Original Surface

    It is delivered as obtained from the machine. The supports and surface burrs are removed. Depending on the technology, traces of layers can be observed.

    Painting (All)

    The painting process in the desired RAL code is performed as obtained from the machine. Surface layer lines are not removed. The desired color tone is provided.

    Graphit Sandblasting (MJF)

    It ensures a homogeneous and matte appearance on the surfaces of the pieces as obtained from the MJF technology. Pieces of a very smooth and dark gray shade are obtained.

    Dye Black (MJF)

    In MJF technology, a black surface is obtained by dipping the painting after the sandblasting process. It is ideal for sealing applications.

    Post-processing + Painting (All)

    A smooth final product is obtained by post-processing pieces in all technologies. Painting in the desired RAL code is applied. The matte or glossy surfaces can be preferred.

    MJF parts are resistant to high temperatures and have a smooth and flexible structure. Particularly parts with clamp structures can be manufactured conveniently using the MJF 3D printing technology. Thanks to MJF technology, every part can be manufactured without a geometry limitation. Injection molding is a suitable additive manufacturing technology for bridge operation even when it is not sufficient for manufacturing alone.

    MJF 3D printing is more costly compared to 3D printing technologies such as FDM, as it provides higher surface quality and dimensional consistency for industrial uses. In MJF technology, it is possible to have wall thicknesses up to 6 mm. It is a highly successful technology for the manufacturing of parts with complex or natural geometric properties and for improving the cosmetic appearance.
